Expanded editionAnalysis generated from community votes
A little guy in goggles, a room full of lasers, and death in a tenth of a second.
The community profile is harsh, across the board. Desert island right at the bottom, ahead of barely 3% of games. Connection hardly better, 5%. Feel with a controller in hand, supposedly its home turf, only beats 8% of titles, and art direction 7%. Its best marks barely lift things: fun and soundtrack, around 15%. Careful though, all of this rests on very few votes, two to five duels per criterion, so these are early signals rather than verdicts. But the direction is clear: Stealth Bastard Deluxe almost never wins when the question is about emotion.
Nothing scandalous about that. It is a twitchy puzzle-platformer built on instant death, made for repetition and score. Next to stealth games that bet on immersion, or indies that go straight for your heart, it plays a different tune: millimetric timing and the same level restarted forty times. What the community measures here, attachment, rediscovery, aesthetics, is simply not where its value lives.
So, who is it for? For you if you like dying, understanding, restarting, and feeling your fingers get sharper level after level. Much less so if you want a game that stays with you long after you put it down.
