Analysis generated from community votes
An amnesiac detective, a corpse, and a dozen voices in your head each arguing over every one of your decisions.
It is one of the sharpest gaps in the whole ranking. On gut feeling, the community loves it, ahead of 99% of games, almost at the very top. And yet, controller feel finishes at the very bottom, behind nearly every title. No contradiction, really: Disco Elysium has almost no gameplay in the classic sense, it is an ocean of text, dialogue, and choices. You do not prefer it for what you do with your hands, but for what you read and what you become. Attachment, art style, and the wish to rediscover it follow very high as well.
Next to other role playing games, it pushes writing to a level few dare, to the point of doing almost entirely without combat.
So, who is it for? For you if you like to read, choose, lose yourself in dense, brilliant writing. Much less if you want action or controller feel.
