Analysis generated from community votes
One more turn. Just one last one. And the sun coming up on your screen.
When the community votes on instinct, Civilization VI lands ahead of roughly two thirds of games, solid without being crushing. But two lines blow the meter apart. Fun first, that famous 'just a quick session' that ends at 3am, ahead of 98% of titles, almost the very top. Then the desert island, ahead of 91% of games, the one you'd take to last for months. And yet, one number stands out: the feel with a controller in hand drops to the very bottom, ahead of only 11% of games. The tension is there and it makes sense, this is a strategy game built for the mouse, not a pad, and the controller question does it a disservice. The rest, attachment and visuals, stays around the middle.
Against other 4X games, it remains the genre's front door, the most accessible and the most time-devouring at once.
So who's it for? For you if you love to build, to plan, to watch a civilization grow turn after turn until you forget the time. Much less if you play on a controller and want an instant twitchy thrill, because this game is savoured a different way.
