Rediscovery holds its own, around average, probably because the idea of an open-world Pokemon still intrigues. For the rest, it hurts. Attachment and desert island stay low. Fun, controller feel, art direction and sound all sink to the very bottom of the rankings. It's rare to see a profile struggling so uniformly. The tension here isn't in contrast, it's in the gap between a beloved franchise and an entry the community rarely picks ahead.

Against RPGs and slicker Pokemon entries, Arceus pays for its aging tech and bland visuals. The gameplay ambition was there, the visual execution trailed far behind.

So who's it for? You, if the idea of freely hunting Pokemon speaks to you more than the beauty on screen. Much less if you're after visual wonder or controls that truly snap.
