On gut instinct, the community puts Not a Hero ahead of only 16% of games. Plain. But look at the breakdown and the picture flips: the feel of the controller shoots ahead of 85% of titles, on few votes so take it as an early signal, and the art style gets past nearly two thirds of the ranking. The rest lags behind, with attachment, fun, desert island and soundtrack all bunched low. There is the real tension: the action feels delicious, the cover slides, the crisp gunfire, and none of it turns into lasting affection. You love playing it, you forget it fast.

Compared to other twitchy 2D shooters, it plays the absurd humour and arcade precision card where others go for tension or story. It owns being a treat.

So, who is it for? For you if you love the perfect run, millimetre timing and British humour going off the rails. Much less if you want a game that stays in your heart once the controller is down.
