The Normandy is back in service, and with it the weight of three games' worth of bonds.

On gut feeling, no thinking, Mass Effect 3 lands just above half the games, no more. But the first per-criterion votes, on very few duels, tell another story, to be confirmed. The game you'd take to a desert island sits ahead of 95% of titles. Attachment, ahead of 93%. The feel of the controller in hand, ahead of 92%. This is the portrait of a game you carry with you, for a long time. One clear off-note: the soundtrack, all the way down, below 87% of games. The tension is there, quiet. You love it for everything it stands for, but the instinctive pull doesn't quite match the surge of the heart.

In the narrative action RPG, this is exactly what you want from a trilogy's finale: not a mechanic you discover, but a story you close with a character you raised. Compared to games built on their sound, it doesn't play on that ground.

So who's it for? You, if you lived the Shepard saga and want the emotional payoff, the bond with a crew, the weight of the choices. Much less so if you arrive without the first two games behind you, or if you're after an OST that follows you out of the game first.
