An unknown island, roads to build, towns that rise, and the race for colonization kicking off.

With no preference ranking for now, you read the game criterion by criterion, and the verdict is harsh, still on few votes. Everything slides downward. Rediscovery and the soundtrack sit right at the bottom, behind almost every game. The art style very low too. Attachment and the pleasure of a controller in hand climb a little toward the low middle, without ever taking off. No criterion truly lifts it. This is the digital adaptation of a board game, and these questions, built for emotion, aesthetics and the OST, are simply not its turf.

Compared to games that leave a mark through their atmosphere or art direction, Catan Universe plays in another category. Its strength lies elsewhere: negotiation, calculation, the tension of a game among friends. What these criteria measure misses the point.

So, who is it for? For you if you love tabletop Catan and want to find it on screen, fast, without pulling out the box. Much less if you want a video game that pulls you in through its world, its music or its style.
